I'm in the stickiest of situations - I make just enough money to not qualify for help from any of the foundations that might normally help folks in my predicament (including the assistance program set up by Genentech - a company that's very grumpy with the docs working on my eye, thanks to an NPR interview done with one of the associates in the office.) It's a real pain in the patoot (and the eye), although the Avastin is like a miracle for me. I hear that, maybe in a year, it'll be FDA- and insurance-approved, so other folks hopefully won't have this experience... we shall see...
