You’ve probably already heard, generic Effexor (venlaxafine) and Zoloft (sertraline), as well as Plavix (clopidogrel) have all beed made available in the past week or so. (Sadly there is no generic Effexor XR available yet, but hoepfully that will come soon.)
Expect generics for Ambien and Lexapro soon, as well as Depakote, Zofran, Aciphex and many more.
Just a note on the generic Zoloft; both sertraline and the recently approved simvastatin are made by teva, and are in virtually identical bottles (same quantity, bottle size, color and print size). In many pharmacies these will appear on the shelf right next to each other, so make sure you differentiate between them somehow.
