Every week, I’ll post a list of the past week’s FDA approvals. For more information, visit the FDA’s What’s New section:
- Sutent (sunitinib) – GI/kidney cancer
- Exubera (Insulin Human [rDNA origin]) – Diabetes
- Cytovene (Ganciclovir) – antiviral
- Amitiza (Lubiprostone) – Amitiza (Lubiprostone)
There are also too many generic approvals to mention. The biggest news on this list is, of course, Exubera, manufactured by Pfizer. While most patients will still need occasional injections, this will, at the very least I think, encourage people to get tested for diabetes, who would otherwise not do so for fear of needles.
